The traffic of refrigerated containers<\/strong> by sea will reach 156 million tons<\/strong> by 2024 according to the reports of some specialized consultants. This forecast represents an average expansion of 3.7%<\/strong> over the next few years. However, this figure contrasts with what is expected for dry freight containers whose growth forecast is currently only 2.2%. In fact, world maritime trade in refrigerated containers recorded a growth of 1.7% in 2019, reaching 130.5 million tonnes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The reason for this data is that, despite the current situation, refrigerated cargoes by sea are, in most cases, perishable foodstuffs for basic needs<\/strong>, so the impact of the current situation is much less important. Bananas and fish are the products most in demand, especially on the largest trade route, which connects the west coast of South America with Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n
