Hydrogen<\/strong>, the most abundant chemical material in the universe and in the earth’s crust, is becoming increasingly important in the logistics sector<\/strong>. The commitment to sustainability and more ethical values<\/strong> with the planet has led many industries to find solutions for the reduction of gases in their operations.<\/p>\n

Hydrogen, together with electricity and the progressive introduction of natural gas, is an increasingly sustainable source of energy<\/strong>. It does not emit greenhouse gases, particles or noise. Furthermore, the use of hydrogen technology saves space, as lifting devices, ventilation systems, protection trays, emergency eyewashes or other installations are not necessary in comparison to other materials.<\/p>\n

As we talk here<\/a>, climate change is going to be major challenges for the transport<\/a> sector in Spain and RFL<\/a> is preparing for that.<\/p>\n

Applications<\/h2>\n

In the logistical field, hydrogen has already been used and is associated with greater productivity and efficiency<\/strong>. Some current uses are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Forklifts<\/strong> powered by hydrogen fuel cells in logistics warehouses. They can maintain a high degree of autonomy without having to be recharged.<\/li>\n
  • Hydrogen cars<\/strong> are an option for last mile transports. In fact, this means of propulsion allows the route to be made without the need for continuous refuelling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    European Statistics<\/h2>\n

    However, to this day, we are still talking about the fact that hydrogen use is very much in the minority.<\/strong> According to a study by the European Commission, by 2030 only 1% of the EU’s truck fleet<\/strong> will move through hydrogen, but the percentage could rise to 35% by 2050. In the United States<\/strong>, however, programmes to promote the use of hydrogen in transport or industry are much larger than in the old continent.<\/p>\n

    How to get it<\/h2>\n

    Spain, due to its location, has a great advantage in obtaining hydrogen. Its very sunny climate allows it to take advantage of solar energy for its generation. The most effective and environmentally sustainable way is to achieve it through electrosis. This method allows hydrogen<\/strong> to be obtained by separating the components of water by storing it in fuel cells.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
