Controlled atmosphere is a refrigeration technique<\/strong> in which the gas composition is modified in a refrigeration chamber or refrigerated container. In this way a regulation control of the physical variables of the environment<\/strong> (temperature, humidity and air circulation) is carried out.<\/p>\n

The controlled atmosphere is applied to all types of transport of fruit and vegetable products<\/strong> and is generally characterised by having an atmosphere impoverished in oxygen (O2) and enriched in carbon dioxide (CO2). In this way, the composition of the air is precisely adjusted to the requirements of the packaged product and remains constant throughout the transport process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
